Mom Life The Woman

Merry Christmas!

It has been a busy, at times hectic, Holiday Season. We hosted Thanksgiving for the first time in either of our adult lives last month; then we hosted Savannah’s 4th b-day party; we babysat a bunch last week and visited Santa; today is Christmas (so all the prep work like putting toys together, wrapping presents, crying into large glasses of wine.) and we’re heading to visit Kenny’s family a few hours away. In all the rushing and cleaning and cooking and prepping it’s easy to forget what this is all about. This morning, however, I was reminded while watching my babies open their gifts and screech in delight. That joy is worth all the long lines and all the money in the world. I am so thankful and grateful that my kids only know really good Holidays and birthdays. I am thankful for the innocence that lets them believe in Santa. I am grateful that no one has tried to tell my kids Santa isn’t real yet. Partially because I don’t want anyone ruining the giggling, effervescent joy they posess but also because I’d scratch their whore eyes out and I don’t have bail money. Find joy today, friends. Even if you’re alone this Holiday, especially then. Here’s some pics of my kids being cute.

Drafting our last letter to Santa. Savannah was very concerned about the whole “naughty/nice” stipulation.

Christmas JJ’s (when Savannah was a baby she called pajamas “JJ’s”. We never stopped her )
